coco chanel

What a wonderful woman!

Coco Chanel is definitely one of those ladies who inspire me to stay classy, as Chanel was the definition of class. As a young adult, she was a modern-day, upper class prostitute - and had affairs with two very wealthy men who lavished her with diamonds and clothes. Chanel started designing hats and soon became a licensed-hat maker. In 1913, she opened her first boutique in Deauville, and made luxury attire for sport and for leisure. By 1919, Chanel was a couture designer and well on her way to creating the iconic brand still around today. Chanel No5 is still the most popular perfume being sold in the world!

Chanel's legend did not end when she passed away in 1971 at the age of 87. Since then, there have been a few TV movies, feature films and novels about her life.

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
- Coco Chanel
